THE Kalling is the latest album from Kabaka Pyramid. The 15-track set was released on September 30 and is produced by Damian “Junior Gong” Marley.
“The Kalling is really about my journey in music being for a higher purpose, not just to get rich or popular, but to inspire a higher vibration in whoever listens. While the majority seek pleasure and sense gratification, there are a few who the Most High ‘kall’ upon to keep the balance inna earth. Music is what I use to answer the kall and you can feel it throughout this album. I think my audience will see the growth in my song writing and delivery, along with Zilla’s top-notch and diverse production, making it easy to follow me on this journey from start to finish â€” no filler tracks to be skipped,” said Kabaka Pyramid.
The reggae singer’s sophomore album features collabs with acts including Damian Marley, Protoje, Black Am I, Jesse Royal, as well as Buju Banton and Stephen Marley.
The Kalling’s tracklisting includes: the title track The Kalling ft Stephen Marley; Make Things Work; Red, Gold & Green ft Damian Marley; and Grateful ft Jemere Morgan.
The Kalling US tour kicked off on October 4 in Seattle, Washington, through November 12 in Daytona, Florida. Stops are scheduled for Colorado, Oregon, Nevada, New York, California, and the US Virgin Islands.
Signed to Bebble Rock Music, Kabaka Pyramid’s given name is Keron Salmon. A former student of Campion College in St Andrew, he holds degree in electronics and computer technology at Orlando’s Devry University.
He is known for songs including Warrior, Well Done, and Can’t Breathe. His debut album Kontraband was met with critical acclaim.
