Add Vanessa Bryant and her family to the list of high profile visits to Jamaica recently.

The widow of late NBA great Kobe Bryant revealed in an Instagram post Monday morning that she and her family had jetted off to the ‘Rock’ on vacation.

Bryant’s daughters Natalia and Bianca, and sister-in-law Sharia are among those featured in a video joking about which family member will “ruin the trip” in the island. The post did not indicate where in Jamaica the Bryants were staying.

Their visit follows that of American singer Kelly Rowland and Tina Knowles-Lawson, the mother of Grammy award-winning pop artistes Beyonce and Solange who described Jamaica as “Heaven on Earth” in an Instagram post.

Jamaica’s tourism minister Edmund Bartlett revealed last week that Jamaica has recorded close to one million visitors since reopening the doors to its tourism sector in June 2020.

According to the minister, a total of 816,632 tourists have visited the island since June 14, 2020, with 510,000, or 62 per cent, of those visitors arriving in Jamaica since January this year. This figure does not include passengers using Jamaican passports.

Bartlett also noted that the arrivals over the one-year period have delivered estimated earnings of US$1.312 billion, of which US$97.58 million would have accrued directly to the Government.
