There was strong Jamaican representation during the BET Awards on Sunday (June 27).

During the ‘Pass The Mic’ BET Awards edition hosted by DJ Cassidy, a few of Jamaica’s top artistes performed as part of a legendary guest list that also included R&B and hip hop stars.

Beenie Man, Sean Paul, and Wayne Wonder contributed to an iconic set of some of the best 90s and early 2000 music that had fans including fellow superstars wanting for more.

Beenie Man partnered with R&B songbird Mya on the track Girl Dem Sugar while Wayne Wonder followed right after with No Letting Go. Sean Paul was third in line with his hit Get Busy.

The trio were part of a giant line up that included Nelly, Kelis, Akon, Mr Cheeks, Fabolous among others. Also of note was the reunion of sorts for Ja Rule and Ashanti with the track Always On Time.

‘Pass The Mic’ has been a staple event on BET with the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic with over 150 artistes coming through and reaching fans with their music.
