Vision Alexander — the songwriter who is credited on five out of the seven songs on the Grammy Award-winning reggae album Colors of Royal by Julian Marley and Antaeus — says the win is a testament of dedication.

“For the team, it demonstrates what hard work, unity and loyalty can bring full circle. And, for me, it’s only the beginning. It’s always been God’s plan. So I’ll continue to be lead by faith and not by sight. God has more plans for this talent that He’s given me, and I’m ready to put in the work,” he told the
Jamaica Observer on Monday.

Alexander has credits on the tracks:
Made For Your Love (produced by Alex Antaeus),
Jah Sees Them (produced by Sean Alaric),
Inna Mood (produced by Prince Productions),
Roll (produced by Alexx Antaeus), and
Rodando featuring Bahiano (produced by Alexx Antaeus and Mr Sonic).

The other four albums nominated were:
Born for Greatness by Buju Banton,
Simma by Beenie Man,
Cali Roots Riddim 2023 by Collie Buddz, and
No Destroyer by Burning Spear for music’s biggest prize.

Alexander also said he remained optimistic about the victory throughout the entire process.

“I’ll be honest, I’ve been surprised by the Grammys before with my first nomination with Jesse Royal, and I’ve learnt that the Grammys is like the sport soccer: The ball is round and can be anybody’s game, no matter the playing field. But, I’m a strong believer in manifestation and preparation, and then I leave the rest up to God,” he said.

Adding that the team worked seamlessly together to compile the project, Alexander is hopeful that they can all combine efforts to create another winning project.

“Julian [Marley] is a great person and leader; himself and Alexx, and John really steered the team in the right direction guiding us through this journey. The entire process has been a great experience, this team is so talented and hard-working. I would love to work with each of them again in the near future if God wills it,” the songwriter said.

The St George’s College past student is also expressing gratitude to supporters for their encouragement as the team continues to celebrate.

“It really means the world to me. I hope that you all believe me when I say this is not just our win, but yours, as well. Without you I wouldn’t have made it this far. Thank you for believing and encouraging me through my musically journey thus far. I promise you that I will continue to work hard to represent for all of you. Jamaica, England and South Florida are my homes. I promise I will continue to work hard and put God first,” Alexander said.
