Legend holds off Masicka’s Generation of Kings

Despite a strong debut at #2, Generation of Kings, the sophomore album by dancehall artiste Masicka, was unable to remove Bob Marley and the Wailers’ Legend from the top of the Billboard Reggae Albums chart.

Legend holds firm for a 204th non-consecutive week.

Generation of Kings also debuts at #14 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums chart, his second entry. His 2021 release 438 peaked at #16.

Generation of Kings gives Masicka his second entry on the reggae table, as 438 also peaked at #2 in 2021.

Still on the reggae chart, Best of Shaggy: The Boombastic Collection by Shaggy remains at #3, while Dutty Classics Collection by Sean Paul stays put at #4.

Stick Figure controls the next three positions, as World on Fire, Wisdom and Set in Stone are #5, #6, #7, respectively.

Greatest Hits by UB40 is again at #8, while No Love by Byron Messia re-enters at #9.

Backyard Sessions: Malibu Edition by Iration revisits the chart at #10.

Now moving over to the R&B charts, Teejay’s Drift creeps up from #41 to #39 on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, while tumbling seven places down to #36 on Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay. It backtracks two places down to #32 on Rhythmic Top 40.

Veteran singer Marcia Griffiths takes over the #1 spot on the South Florida Reggae chart with Niceness. Meanwhile, Endlessly by Robert Ffrench steps up from #8 to #5.

Nobody But You by Caryl Jacobs (#21), Lead Me On by Kashief Lindo (#24) and Heartbeat by Richie Stephens (#25) are this week’s new entries.

On the New York Reggae chart, I Shall Be Released by Hezron featuring Big Youth spends a second week at #1.

Practice What You Preach by Bounty Killer (#28) and Duh Road by Worl-A-Girl (#29) are the new entries.

Swept Away by Jamaican-born Andrae Duhaney spends another week at the top of the Rebel Vibez Top Ten Canadian Reggae chart.

In the meantime, Dread by JUNO award winner Kirk Diamond enters at #10, while Stir This Thing by multi-JUNO nominee Ammoye and Turbulence is #8.

Jamaica it Nice by Tasha T is #6.
