With February designated as Reggae Month, event-goers will be treated to a month-long series of events celebrating reggae and dancehall alike.
One such event scheduled for the celebrations is the Essence of Reggae Music Festival.
The festival, which is entering its 3rd staging, is the brainchild of Grammy-winning producer Comar “Frankie Music” Campbell.
Essence festival is the only one of its kind in Kingston and promises to give the Corporate Area an experience only witnessed by reggae and dancehall lovers overseas, especially in Europe.
The festival is scheduled for February 3, 2024 with a day full of activities at Police Officers’ Club.
A very important aspect of the festival is a music workshop from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm,geared to music and music business education with several key professionals on hand to share their knowledge and expertise surrounding different areas of the industry.
At 8:00 pm the night is set to kick off with a massive line-up of reggae stars. The stellar cast consists of some of the genres best, the likes of Sizzla Kalonji, Queen Ifrica, Richie Spice, I Octane, Bugle, Jahshii, Laa Lee, Mackeehan, and Singer J, to name a few, all backed by a live band.
DJs Kurt Riley and JJ Whizzle will provide added energy between sets.
